The Jalalabad Association of America, Inc is a dynamic community service organization with over 14,000 members. We are committed to our mission to promote the wellbeing of the people of greater Sylhet region living in America through their socio-cultural and economic development. Our focus is on providing all out support to the new immigrants.
We have a lot to offer our members and the community through education, leadership development, social development, hands on community service, advocacy, thought leadership, and more. In doing so, we strive to ensure effective interface of indigenous culture with the mainstream US culture.
The Jalalabad Association of America, Inc has been instrumental in founding many initiatives in the US. Presently we are working on two of our Signature Projects - ‘Bangla School of New York’ and ‘Career & Leadership Development Workshop’ through volunteer opportunities and grant funding. Additionally we partner with corporate entities and other community non-profit organizations having issues and goals similar to us.
We are ready and willing to tackle the issues that face our community. The Association will soon provide advocacy, workshop, and outreach services on issues encountered by our members, especially the new immigrants. Programs and workshops on Affordable Housing, Obama Care enrollment, Tax Filing advocacy, and TLC job application assistance etc are few of the ongoing weekly initiatives by the Association at present.
We thankfully recognize the involvement of Bangladesh Embassy in Washington and its Consulate at New York in providing extended services to the community. We are happy to find partnership in our endeavor providing scholarship to needy and talented students from the new immigrants.
The Jalalabad Association of America, Inc welcomes new members every year, supports our active membership and celebrates our sustaining members who provide a wealth of knowledge and achievement within the community. We appreciate donation/contribution to the Association. Apart from monetary contribution, we also accept items such as household furniture and gazettes that help some newly arrived immigrants.
We welcome you in our Association!
